Southside Flyers

The Southside Flyers are a professional women’s basketball team in the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) owned and supported by Jayco CEO, Gerry Ryan.

The club is based in Dandenong, Victoria and was originally founded as Dandenong Rangers before the team rebranded prior to the 2019-20 WNBL season to Southside Flyers with fresh faces, fresh plans and a completely new logo and look.

The Southside Flyers aim to build on the success of the Dandenong Rangers who have been one of Australia’s most successful domestic women’s basketball teams. Southside Flyers will play its home games at Dandenong Stadium.

The inaugural Head Coach of the Southside Flyers is Cheryl Chambers, one of the most successful and respected coaches in Australian basketball. Cheryl is a three-time WNBL Coach of the Year and an Assistant Coach of Australia’s National Team, the Australian Opals.
