Kalgoorlie mum transforms new jayco bought online into a caravan classroom

Kalgoorlie mum, Jihan Meenehan, becomes the first Jayco customer to purchase a brand-new caravan completely online through phone calls, video chats and emails, and transforms it into a home-school classroom for her daughter during isolation.

“We started searching for a caravan more than a year ago,” said Ms Meenehan. “My partner does rodeo and we travel across Western Australia all the time. On average, we hit the road at least three times a month and we love going to Esperance to go camping and fishing, so the decision to purchase a caravan was a no-brainer for us.”

“We took our time searching for the right caravan. We always knew we wanted to buy a Jayco, because I knew it would be easy to have our van serviced and to buy parts when we needed it.”

Ms Meenehan said she and her partner were close to purchasing the RV of their dreams, but the restrictions to limit the spread of COVID-19 started to come into effect, making it difficult to make the six-hour journey to Perth to see the caravan.

“The moment we started dealing with the team at Jayco CaravanLand Perth, we felt welcomed. I asked so many questions and requested for so many photos – from the caravan interiors and the bathroom to the exterior and undercarriage. I even had a number of Facetime sessions with the team who walked me through the caravan,” she said.

“The team were so reliable, quick and agile. Nothing was too hard. They made the entire process so seamless. I would always get a response within a few hours. They made it so easy to buy our caravan from the comfort of our own home,” said Ms Meenehan.

Given the current travel restrictions in place across Australia, Jihan and her family are unable to go on a road trip, so she’s transformed her new Jayco Journey Outback into a home-school classroom for her six-year-old daughter.

“Our new Jayco Journey Outback is so modern and super comfortable, and it’s a good way for my daughter and I to physically step out of the house and get into ‘school’ mode away from the distractions inside the house,” said Ms Meenehan.

Paul Surtees, Dealer Principle at CaravanLand Perth said customers can now own Australia’s most trusted RV without stepping outside the house.

“We have introduced complimentary virtual tours to make it easier for people to view and walk through any new Jayco RV or pre-loved caravan. We do this in two ways, either through live video chat viewings using platforms such as Facetime, WhatsApp, Google Hangouts and Facebook Messenger or through recorded video tours on YouTube,” said Mr Surtees.
